What do you want to be when you grow up? – By Clare T.
Last Friday I spent 2 hours in the company of 100 stylish Galway ladies listening to the fabulous Norah Casey speak at the Irish Tatler Working Lunch.
After a delicious Glenlo Abbey buffet, Norah inspired us with stories of her own path to success and how she never stops learning and trying new ways to be ‘the best version of herself’ that she can be.
She was full of good advice and reminded us that “confidence and adaptability are the most important traits to be successful in work and in life” and it’s not really about having great ideas, you need to be able to see them through.
After listening to Norah speak about how important it is to be excited about your life and to believe in yourself, I spent the drive home remembering all the things I wanted to do and be when I was young. It made me want to take stock of my life and revisit my younger self who believed I could set my mind to something and achieve it.
I hope that I am still the kind of woman who will always be open to change, who is receptive to new ideas and will pass this philosophy to my kids.
Thank you Norah and Irish Tatler, for an inspiring and energising Friday lunchtime.
